You make good pictures. Sometimes they’re even truly beautiful, but this is for photographers who want to have a strong, clear voice with images that go beyond pretty.

This one-on-one portfolio review is a space for honest, detailed feedback. My teaching style naturally leans towards positive encouragement, but in this space I want you to be ready for direct, honest feedback as well.

I want to help you to curate your portfolio and strengthen your point-of-view.

We will look at what you’re doing well, what dilutes your message, and where you can move going forward.

How It Works

submit a portfolio of your images and a detailed questionnaire about your work- your influences, challenges, and artistic hopes
I will review your submission with care, taking time to study your images and reflect on your creative direction
meet for a 40-minute live call to discuss feedback together—clear, honest, and encouraging, hopefully kind of funny (why am I so desperate to be funny?)
the conversation will focus on what’s working, what can evolve, and how to move closer to the art you most want to make

Who is this for?

This is for photographers who are interested in making pictures that are more than flattering portraits. It’s for artists who have a story that they want to tell and they want their photographic images to speak directly to it.

How many images should I submit?
You’ll receive clear instructions after booking, but generally plan to share 20–30 images that best represent your current work and direction.

Will the critique be kind or blunt?
Both. I believe honest feedback can be deeply kind. You’ll get clarity and directness, but I have always found that digging into your strengths is going to leave you feeling excited and motivated.

Will the call be recorded?
Yes! After the call I’ll send you a folder with your recording available as a download. You’ll have seven days to download/save it for safekeeping/future use.

Will we talk about business or branding too?
This review focuses on the images themselves—technical choices, visual flow, and artistic direction. If you’re looking for mentorship on business or storytelling, I’ve got other options for that.
