Belonging to yourself.

Belonging to your work

CREATIVE WORKSHOPS + COACHING

Ever since I was little if I learned a thing,
I wanted to turn around and teach it- just ask my three younger sisters who were subjected to “playing” school a whole lot with me.

I don’t want to just tell you how to take a photo or even how I take photo.

I want to work and talk together to figure out how you want to show up to your creative practice.

I taught high school English for eight years, and when I left public schools, I wasn’t sure how teaching would come back into my life.

But here we are. What a joy.

So let’s study artists.

Let’s get into our bodies.

Let’s reflect and question and dream and plan.

PORTFOLIO REVIEWS

Portfolio reviews are a pre-call questionnaire/gallery submission and a 40-min live call where we talk through the work. This is probably the most critical or “technical” feedback you’ll hear from me in any of my offers, but I think it has the potential for providing a framework for lots of growth.

PLAY DATE/ CREATIVE + BUSINESS MENTORING

childrens dresses and pants hanging on the line

New for 2026 I am offering in-person 1:1 mentoring days. I love looking through artist’s work and finding the gaps between where they’re at and where they’re hoping to go.

In person mentoring is available in Chesapeake Beach, MD (or if I’m traveling near you it could be added on to a pre-existing trip). We’ll set up a personalized plan to discuss your work and your business during a 4-hour work session together. If you want to shoot a session together you can add that on at the end. Afterward let’s grab dinner and break it all down.

It is rare to find a teacher and a mentor (and I’ve had many across all areas of my life) who is so generous with her knowledge and provides such honest and raw feedback alongside deeply supportive cheerleading.

The 4x4 Workshop
- a virtual + in-person retreat.

Four months of mentoring. Four days in person together making art. A creative mentorship for photographers who are ready to turn inward — to listen more closely to their own intuition, to explore what they really want from their work, and to make images that feel like truth. At its center is a four-day in-person workshop: time held in real life for art-making, conversation, and honest connection. This is not about more content or faster growth — it’s an invitation to slow down, trust yourself, and begin again with intention.

MARKETING CLASS FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS

Sloppy Pins: A Pinterest Course for Photographers

Pinterest has become a significant part of my marketing process. My process is wildly imperfect, really easy and proven to bring me some amazing work. This new course will launch in January 2026 and will include a PDF workbook/guide + a live call where we walk through the initial set up and then two more Co-working Sessions where we can discuss and get pinning.

More info

Do you want to make art in ways that feel rooted in presence and aligned with purpose?

Art that feel visceral and honest and deeply human?

It’s easier to keep the momentum going than it is to start it.
You can’t wait for inspiration - she’s a fickle friend.
You have to rely on practice and ritual.

Sometimes I need to set myself up for the creative moment.
Sometimes you have to too.

Sometimes I have to start before I am ready.
Sometimes, you need to too.

The work I want to do with you is about the search. It’s about the longing.

I want to help you begin, or continue, the process of uncovering the pieces that are just beneath the surface waiting to come forth.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING…

“The way Rachel teaches, invites in curiosity, and creates community and inspiration blew my mind open. If you plan to take any photography course, make this your number one pick. It’s more than a how to shoot a great photo.

It’s truly connecting with yourself and your creativity to take the photos that matter to you and your clients.

This course is like a reallllly good go tell your friends about it therapy session.”
